Would you eat this? (My first time asking!)

Recommended Posts

My farm-raised father would tell us growing up: "You gotta eat a peck of dirt before you die." (A peck is 1/4 of a bushel. It's a lot of dirt! ;) )

I always rinse for the pebble issue but in 40 some years of rinsing have never found one. So I think you're safe. You're probably safe even if someone swallows a pebble, too.

I used to rinse and look carefully for stones in my legumes.  Year ago, I'd always find several in every bag.  (Even then, they were so tiny that it wouldn't have hurt to eat them.)  I never seem to find stones anymore though, so generally just give them a quick rinse (and not check for stones).  But if I forget to rinse?  No big deal.
