shinyhappypeople
How many labs does a course need in order to be counted for "lab science" credit? Is there a rule of thumb?
JanetC
A decent minimum to aim for might be 1 lab every other week (so the class is 10% labs for a five day school week). More than 25% of class time on labs would be lab heavy.
regentrude
Quality over quantity. I would rather do one monthly lab that includes in depth data analysis than weekly labs that are little more than demonstrations.
JanetC
Adjust your labs to your year in high school. Juniors and seniors in advanced science classes may need a lot of data analysis. Freshmen and sophomores may still need to practice following directions precisely, using labware, getting accurate observations written down, and connecting what they saw back to what they learned in their textbooks.
