StaceyinLA 4,022
I want to get a really neat hardback book for guests to sign at my dd’s baby shower. Any suggestions for something directed at a baby/child in general?
unsinkable 24,078
A blank book? Or a story book that everyone signs as a momento? If it is a story book... Time for Bed
three4me 286
Maybe a Mother Goose book? We like the one by Scott Gustafson.
alisoncooks 11,826
Maybe a Mother Goose book? We like the one by Scott Gustafson. Yes, a beautifully illustrated book of nursery rhymes would be lovely!
SebastianCat 1,550
My DD had Mary Engelbreit's Mother Goose for many years until she wore it out. I think it would make a lovely shower gift.
FaithManor 30,774
A Children's Garden of Verses was a favorite here. I loved reading the poetry to my babies and toddlers. https://www.amazon.com/Robert-Louis-Stevenson/e/B000AQ0JI2/ref=sr_ntt_srch_lnk_1?qid=1519249773&sr=8-1

FaithManor 30,774
There is an awesome one preschoolers about crayons that go on strike. I wish I could remember the name. Each one has a hilarious complaint against the colorer. Each one writes a little letter in their color crayon whining about their lot in life. It is solo funny, and creative. I wish I could remember the title.

umsami 32,515
My baby shower for DS1 was a book shower. Everybody was asked to bring a favorite book from childhood and write an inscription in it. Amazingly, I got zero duplicates! How about the giant board version of "Goodnight Moon"....then let everybody sign it with wishes of Happy Dreams. (I got that and the giant "Hungry, Little Caterpillar" books at the shower. We love all the Boynton books, especially "The Going to Bed Book"...but I think they are all small. Edited February 22, 2018 by umsami
Sneezyone 31,299
If you hadn’t said story book, I’d recommend “It's Not a Boxâ€. It lends itself to child-led storytelling and there’s lots of space for well-wishers to write.
whitestavern 1,945
I received a very pretty edition of The Complete Tales of Peter Rabbit and Friends at my baby shower.
StaceyinLA 4,022
Thanks for the suggestions! Sandra Boynton is a favorite, and I have already purchased her a few of those. She is having people bring books to her shower also, which is why I thought it would be kinda neat to have the guest sign-in be a book.
Carol in Cal. 24,773
"I Love You As Much" is a gorgeous book about mother love. Perfect for a baby shower.
