KungFuPanda
I need to replace my beloved Land’s End All Weather Mocs that I’ve beennwearing for over a decade (and will continue to use as yard-work shoes). REI has Merrils on sale. It’s free to ship them to the store. I’m just not sure about the size. Would it be bad to ship two pair to the store and return one or both there if they don’t work? I don’t generally buy shoes online because I like to try them on and hate mailing things if there’s a return. Will they hate me? Let me do it? Arcadia
Never had problem doing that for shoes. The REI customer service reps understand how hard it is to get the correct shoe size even if buying back the same model number.
scrapbookbuzz
No, it's not bad of you. It's your money. Do what works for you. Retail has returns all the time. As long as you're cordial to them, they probably won't even remember the transaction a week later.
chocolatechip
I do this all the time. It's the only effective way to find shoes in my opinion!

Luckily I was able to buy the first pair in store and then I just get the same size over and over. For me, they ended up being the same size I wear in most of the shoes I wear. Bootsie
REI even has a program if you are a member that you can retrun shoes after they have been worn (I think it is within a year)--I have never done that but have a friend who has. Carol in Cal.
I recently took a pair of shoes back to REI after hiking in them. It turned out that they unexpectedly triggered my PF. I rarely do anything like that, but it's great to know that I can.
klmama
FWIW, I thought I saw that Lands End had brought back the all-weather moc. Sent from my SM-S320VL using Tapatalk
Acadie
REI customer service is the best! I would definitely do this and I'm sure they get returns like this every day. Amy
KungFuPanda
FWIW, I thought I saw that Lands End had brought back the all-weather moc. Sent from my SM-S320VL using Tapatalk They did what? I used to be able to call and talk to a person at Land’s End. I’d heard the shoes weren’t the same after Sears took over and I do not like Sears’ customer service orvthe interest rate on their store card. I don’t even HAVE a Sears card and their rate offends me.
LucyStoner
REI will not mind. Merrells have some for issues.
