Recommended Posts

Good morning Flyminds!

Welcome to the Flylady support thread. To find out what Flylady is: http://www.flylady.net/ You can also find people on YouTube if you search for it.

We have completed the baby steps found here: http://forums.welltr...nday-october-1/

We have also completed a Building a Control Journal series found here: http://forums.welltr...-16-tue-oct-24/

If you would like to share your small accomplishments on instagram, please do so at #wtmflylady

Flylady Babysteps:

Day 1 - Shine your kitchen sink!!

Day 2 - Dress to shoes!

Day 3 - Exploring the Flylady’s website!

Day 4 - Write things down!

Day 5 - Write down what you hear

Day 6 - Hot spots!!

Day 7 - Pick out your clothes

Day 8 - Get a ring binder and put paper in it

Day 9 - Declutter a few minutes at a time http://www.flylady.net/d/getting-started/31-beginner-babysteps/day-9/

Here is some more information about decluttering: http://www.flylady.net/d/getting-started/flying-lessons/decluttering-15-minutes/ What I have seen is that you just add a 5 minute room rescue at this point. So you take your busiest room in your house and spend 5 minutes decluttering it.

Morning Routine:

Get up and get dressed to lace up shoes; fixing your hair and face

Looking at your posted reminders in kitchen and bathroom

Read any messages on Flylady website or emails

Recognizing the negative voices and changing them! You are flying now!

Put out any hot spots for 2 minutes

5 minute room rescue (pick any room in the house) set your timer and go!

Before Bed Routine:

Keep your sink shining

Lay out your clothes for tomorrow

* Put out your hot spot - optional but always a good idea to do it twice… easier to wake to a clean house then a dirty one!

It is amazing what can be done in 5 minutes. I would get the kids involved and see how much they can do with you. 5 minute room rescue that 4 people do turns into a 20 minute room rescue for the price of 5 minutes!

An overview of the whole 31 days.

Advanced Flylady:

This week the Flylady is focused on Zone 2 - The Kitchen

Tuesday - Planning Day - This could be anything that needs to be planned. Meal planning, lesson planning, activity planning, holiday planning, or anything else.

Today's Mission (We only have missions Monday through Friday)Back to the kitchen we go!  Your mission for today is to wipe down the doors of your cabinets.  Use a damp rag and wipe down the fronts and the edges of your cabinets.  This is really a simple thing to do but we have a tendency to ignore the cabinets because there is always so much more going on in the kitchen.  Finger prints and grease attach themselves to the cabinets and make them a little sticky.  A good wipe down will make such a difference.  Remember we are taking babysteps! Small little missions that add up to a shiny kitchen.

Fly Kids Mission (We only have missions Monday through Friday): Today we are going to do something that might be hard but that is okay. You can do this! You are going to go look in your rooms for 11 toys that are either broken or missing pieces that need to be thrown away. Get a trash bag and toss them!

If you are new to Flylady, please join at any time. There is no better time then now to learn to keep your house clean the easy way!

Kids sick here. I am trying ANYTHING to not get it. Plan went out the window. They are quiet now so that is good. 3 more hours till meds need to be given again.

Lets see what I can do. At least the snow is melting. :D

Can I be transparent? I am overwhelmed. Really overwhelmed. I have company coming Friday, and my house is a mess. My oldest has a huge exam Thursday night at Civil Air Patrol that he has to pass in order to promote to second lieutenant. My company is coming from Virginia, Louisiana, and Tennessee to see him promote at the annual banquet on Saturday. It is a huge deal. He will be heartbroken if he doesn't pass the test. He needs study support from me, so that is taking time away from housework.

I haven't been able to get the kids started back to school yet, and I am feeling tons of pressure about that. We were already behind, and this isn't helping.

I can feel my adrenal system giving out. Of course. I don't manage stress well at all.

I am behind on the baby steps. I haven't kept up with dishes since last week.

I could go on, but you get the picture.

I hate it, but I can feel depression descending. I fight it daily and have forever, but I can feel it overtaking me. (I do take meds.)

I don't want to be a downer on the thread, so maybe I should take a break from posting until I am in a better frame of mind.

On a much more positive note, I am seeing about having someone come on Thursday or Friday to help with the cleaning. â¤ï¸

I'm glad you have some help! Don't stress about losing your place with the baby steps. I personally think you should learn the whole system and then pick and choose what works for you. It's not all or nothing.

Take care of yourself.

TammyB...

I hope your son does well on his exam.  It's really nice that he has people in his life who will travel to celebrate with him!  And of course he's lucky that he's got such a loving mom, too!

Taking a break from "flying" isn't the end of the world.   I'd try to find ways to make the week go more smoothly.  Can you use paper plates and cups for awhile?

I agree with everyone else. I have barely done anything today. I am not concerned. Even when I feel like I am behind in school I try not to worry about it because at the end of the day, it isn't the end of the world.

Do what you have to do and let the rest sort itself. I am glad you are getting help. I am sure that will ease some pressure you have in other areas.

Oh and I am going to put the steps in a post that will be in the top of the daily post when this is done. So you can refer to it whenever it works for you!

----

It is nice to see some of the snow melt. I am loving how quiet my house is right now. :D Now if I can just find the energy to do something useful!
