Tiramisu 5,227 Report post Posted December 12, 2017 I'd be curious to learn more about this school. My D's was just accepted. It seems like the perfect match because it seems rigorous, offers the major dd is interested in, the type of clubs she wants, and music and service opportunities...and there seems to be plenty of social activities without drinking. She is Catholic and I hope that she won't be given a hard time by other Christians there.

Margaret in CO 19,861 Report post Posted December 12, 2017 (edited) Please do visit. Dd did, and though she was accepted on the spot, didn't go. It was not a good fit for her, though we thought at the time it would be perfect. She found the student body arrogant, and was disappointed in the orchestra. 1/3 were not on their primary instruments. She said, "The conductor picked up his baton and they all kept talking! It was like junior high." She sat in on an evening seminar of some sort, and the students didn't seem to be interested in what they man had to say, but were only interested in playing one-up-manship. She found her spot at Hillsdale. edit to add: Instead of telling her that she was overreaching on her piano audition, the comment was, "What idiot allowed you to tackle that piece?" We will definitely have to visit.
