3andme
Has anyone had a dc attend the BYU French Summer Camp? If so, did they enjoy the experience and did they stay in the dorms? Would there be any issue if a student was agnostic?
maize
Shouldn't be a problem as long as they are willing to follow campus standards (including no coffee if your student usually drinks it). I attended a computer science camp on campus as a teenager and not all students were LDS or religious. The classes themselves should be secular, but it is a very religious campus--there may be a group prayer at some point (can't remember if we did this or not at the summer camp) but as long as a person stands quietly no other participation is expected. BYU is good at languages, my dd14 wants to do the StarTalk Arabic program there next year. As long as your student doesn't mind being a minority in terms of religion it should be fine. RootAnn
You might PM 8FillstheHeart (or she might see this & chime in). I believe her daughter went there a couple of summers ago for a French camp.
