Just Kate
I’d like to get my 8 year old niece a 3D pen for Christmas. She is very artsy and creative...I think it would be a fun gift for her. Does anyone here know anything about them? Which brands are decent? Anything about the filament?
rjand6more
DD has one on her list. I have been looking at them. Would love to hear if anyone has one. Edited November 29, 2017 by rjand6more
Arcadia
We tried the one that Brookstone sells in their stores as they allow customers to try. It wasn’t easy for my boys to use and only one of the staff did a perfect demo. ETA: It needs a steady hand and my kids were too impatient. Alice
My parents got my son one a few years ago. It never worked well and was a bust. I’m not sure if that was us or the particular pen or just how they are but it seemed like a cool idea that ended up being disappointing. xixstar
I don't know much about 3D pens, but I just came across doing resin crafts with resin that sets with UV light -- so many super cute ideas. I'd probably go that route instead of the 3D pen just because the 3D pens don't look at cool at they could be and well, the resin crafts look like so much fun. This website had some cute ideas and supplies:https://www.miniaturesweethk.com/pages/tutorial-review-videos Some other videos I watched references this website: http://sophieandtoffee.com/craft-kits/?sort=newest Edited November 29, 2017 by xixstar
