rainbowmama
We very rarely use a compass. I set aside a compass for my tween for the AMC8 she will take today. One of my littles wandered off with it and won't cop to it (or doesn't remember). Do I need to make a special trip to the store for this? She hasn't used a compass for any of the practice tests, as far as I know, but the instructions say to bring one.
Arcadia
A compass isn’t needed. My kids took the AMC8/10/12 the last two years and taking again today. It would be the last AMC8 for my 8th grader. No questions need precise drawings to answer. Your child can just sketch a circle that doesn’t look like a perfect circle if she wants to draw circles to work out the geometry problem. Only the bubble scantron sheet is graded.
