I need a good movie that will appeal to dh, me, Ds20 and Dd15.  Dh and Ds like action.  Dd tends to like animal movies.  I tend to like action but not too gory or too bad languagey.  Nobody likes horror or romance (at least if the romance is the subject - incidental is ok).  Past hits:  Jackie Chan movies, Night at the Museum movies, We bought a Zoo.

fly away home

second hand lions

homeward bound

free willy

catch me if you can  (apparently, the real frank abagnale would start telling stories on set, and the crew would stop what they were doing and just listen.  drove steven spielberg nuts.)

as I was looking around, I found

furry vengeance.  interesting enough I'll look it up.

Is the new Wonder Woman on DVD?

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Not sure, but ds downloaded it to his phone, and it was probably my favorite superhero movie I've seen in ages, maybe ever. If it is, or as soon as it is, I'd give it a recommend!

How about James Bond movies?

Hotel for Dogs

Avatar

Sherlock Holmes with Robert Downey Jr.

Gosh, so many of the movies mentioned are favorites of ours!

Some I don't think were mentioned yet:

Dan, In Real Life (yes, there is a romance involved but it's more of a family comedy/drama)

My Little Sister (I think that's what it's called -- it's a foreign film and very good)

I know you said you didn't like romantic movies, but we all recently really liked "Leap Year" -- a very well done romantic comedy

Duma

the Batman movies (with Christian Bale)

War Horse

Hunt for Red October (we second this suggestion)

Jack the Giant Slayer

Epic (animation)

The Book Thief

Master and Commander the Far Side of the World

Tron Legacy

Apollo 13 (some language)

Inkheart

Saving Mr. Banks

The Secret Life of Walter Mitty with Ben Stiller (we second this, too)

From Time to Time

scary with mystery, but not horror:

The Others

The Village

Signs

Dual (1970's)

Movie's over, and that's the best 99 cents I've spent in a long time.  (Clue is on Amazon rentals, and cheap!)  I'm not going to let my kids watch it yet, though.  There is more innuendo in it than I like for my kids at this point, well, and cleavage, lol.  Just mentioning in case someone might want to preview it first.  I imagine it's fine for 15 and 20yo, though. ;)

So funny and I SO needed that.  Thanks again.

I'll second "Saving Mr. Banks." I cried the ugly cry over that one, lol.

Nanny McPhee is quite funny. I always cry at the happy ending.

The new "Beauty and the Beast" (which is sort of slow in parts, but it is a *beautiful* movie, including the credits) and "Cinderella."
