Elizabeth86
Brought to you by mil gifting someone an as seen on tv item. Have you even had anything "as seen on tv" that you liked/it worked lime it claimed to.
SparklyUnicorn
No As soon as I see "as seen on TV" marked on something I refuse to buy it. A lot of people swear by Oxi Clean. I think that started off as an "as seen on TV" item. So, who knows, maybe some of the items are good. I just don't trust it right off the bat.
Slache
Touch lamps are awesome. I like oxyclean. I swear by those foot patches and I don't care who judges me for it. :coolgleamA:

AK_Mom4
The Turbie Twist has (literally) changed my life. Regular towels leave my hair still wet and are heavy and make my neck hurt when I wrap up my hair. The Turbie Twist takes enough water out of my hair to let it air dry in under an hour and it’s small enough to fit in my gym bag.

Word Nerd
I haven’t ever bought an “As Seen on TV†item just because it had that label, but I wouldn’t assume an item was junk or think it was a crappy gift just because it carried that label.
Guest
It's an anti-advertisement to me too. I got rid of the TV in '96 even though it keeps trying to creep back in through the internet. I found out about Oxy Clean from some hippie soapmaker on Etsy so that doesn't count.
Kareni
I don't watch TV, so I'm not likely to see anything there. That said, we were visiting my sister who had this skillet with which she was very pleased. We've since bought our own and are likewise pleased. I'd like to get one of these griddles in the future. Regards, Kareni
Elizabeth86
Cool. Glad some items work out. My mil almost always buys as seen on tv and they usually turn out to be junk. She bought ds some virtual reality goggles. Yes mil thank you for getting a 6 year old a gift that requires a smart phone and the batteries keep popping out of the remote. Element
These are wonderful! I have a lot of hair, so I can relate. Wet hair + towel is usually painfully heavy. I only have one now, but I think I'm going to buy a couple more.
dsmith
My father-in-law has been on an 'As seen on TV' kick lately. He bought the Hurricane Spin Scrubber, and it has actually been a big help to me. I've been unable to clean the way I used to with my current health issues, so I've been using it in the bathrooms a lot. He also purchases from those really cheap catalogs that sell all sorts of crap aimed at seniors. He purchased a grabber thing to help reach things on high shelves and it is total crap. A can would probably break it, lol. We never know what is going to show up every few weeks.
JustEm
Oxy clean and ove glove but I had no idea either of them were as seen on TV items. The only television viewing we do is through Netflix or Prime so I haven't seen a commercial in a decade or so.

I have one and a couple others that are a different brand, and I use them every time I wash my hair, as do my girls. Definitely a must-have in our house. kitten18
My sister has been using and loving her rotato for about 20 years. She's the guinea pig for my family, she will buy and test all that stuff for us. 😬

Guest
Yeah, sometimes they do work as promised, but I am not a fan of buying off the TV because I hate the offers and the upsells. (For example, "Get a second Wonder Widget for Free! Just pay $10.95 additional S&H!" Hello? That is not free. And I don't want TWO Wonder Widgets!) I do sometimes buy thinks sold in Walmart or elsewhere that were first pitched on TV. Pillow Pets were first pitched on TV. I did just buy that copper no-stick skillet; DH wanted it. He thinks it's terrific. I can't quite make myself scramble an egg with NO oil, and if I put oil in the no-stick skillet it just sits on top. So, no. I'm cooking my eggs in a cast iron skillet. I also have a set of those Ahhh Bras. I wear them as sleeping bras. I do have a Ronco rotisserie oven, the original "Set it and forget it!" It is great for chickens, although truthfully, I don't use it very often. DH bought several ShamWow chamois for drying things years ago at an air show. I still love those things. They are way better than regular chamois.
katilac
I love my Wrap Masters from Home Shopping Network (dispensers for foil, plastic wrap. wax paper). I have my pride though: I bought them from the internet, not the television.
Rockhopper
We've had a couple of winners that were "as seen on TV" although we've purchased both at brick and mortar stores. The temporary, velcro-up, magnet-close screen "door" was a lifesaver for us in a couple of rentals without storm/screen. And we've really appreciated the flexibility and small storage footprint of the pocket hose. My brother recently raved about the microfiber interior car window wiper my dad had, which was also an "as seen on tv" product. ETA: Oh, and my youngest has both a pillow pet and a SnuggieTail. She HAD to have the SnuggieTail last year. The pillow pet has had years of love, but the SnuggieTail, as expected, was short-lived joy. (We live in a climate where we use summer bedding year round, and wear shorts and flip-flops year round, and she runs hot anyway. But her 6-year old self was convinced she'd spend many happy hours snuggled up in a closed-bottom fitted polyester blanket. :-) ) Edited October 2, 2017 by Rockhopper
theelfqueen
My husband has two of those click belts and swears that they are the best thing ever. My favorite part of as seen on tv commercials is that everyone is an idiot who can't drain pasta or make pancakes or whatever lol Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

J-rap
My dh and I once got a Christmas album set which is still our family favorite! Only it's records, so we've had to keep a record player of some kind in order to play them. :)
Guest
Ohmygosh, I love the ASOTv stuff! I'm just that geeky! Let's see... Just about every morning we use these microwave egg cooker things. Love those. Sham-Wow. Love them. I have that microfiber car window cleaner thingy. I want one of those copper skillets. Several hair thingies, but now that my hair is pixied I don't use them. We have several Snuggies. And pillow pets. I also love getting the Lillan Vernon catalog. There's so much neat stuff in there. SparklyUnicorn
There is a guy my kids watch on youtube who tests as seen on TV stuff. He is hilarious. There are some crazy products out there!
MEmama
There is a guy my kids watch on youtube who tests as seen on TV stuff. He is hilarious. There are some crazy products out there! DS would love that show. He loves to read reviews that people write on Amazon or whatever, especially the really dumb ones ("one star because the pack didn't have a water bottle holder!" when clearly no water bottle holder was mentioned or shown in the multiple photos of said product). We don't watch much TV so we don't see the commercials. Where we used to live there was an actual mall store that only carried ASOTV items; I think it was even the name if the store. I thought that was pretty hilarious and weird.

Angie in VA
I got this but not from TV. And I blame You People for knowing about it. I got it off Amazon after searching Wally World only to find it cheaper at Wally World shortly after. (I asked an employee and even showed her a photo on my phone. Grrr.) It really is helpful.
