Popular Post fairfarmhand
My ds9 was standing in the kitchen forlornly as I handed him the peanut butter that was right there in front of him in the pantry. I left the room and the following conversation ensued between him and his oldest sister. Ds: I think I'm ready to be a husband. Dd: Really? Why is that? Ds: Because I'm getting to the age where I can't find anything. Even if it's sitting right there in front of me! Like the refrigerator. (gesturing to the fridge directly in front of him) I can't see that fridge. So, I think I'm ready to be a husband.
marbel
Oh, I about died reading this and read it to my husband. He is still laughing. It's so true!
melbotoast
Sounds like he's ready!
dsmith
Lol! That is hilarious! Whenever my son can't find something I ask him if he looked for it like I would look for it or like his dad would look for it. Neither of them seem to be capable of looking behind anything for whatever it is they are looking for.
Guest
Can he tell the difference between NEAR the hamper and IN the hamper? Because this seems to also be a critical difference.
OneStepAtATime
My DH has a T=shirt that says "Stay calm and ask your mom." The kids gave it to him because of an incident a few years ago. DH never has a clue where anything is, ever, but expects me to know where EVERYTHING is, regardless of how long ago he misplaced it. When I left town for 3 days a few years ago, it was as if a black void had swallowed literally everything we owned. They couldn't find anything. Like anything. My kids were in a panic, my husband was in a panic, and I was NOT IN THE STATE MUCH LESS THE HOUSE SO WHY ASK ME?! DH just kept having them call me for help. Seriously?
fraidycat
 That's awesome. We call that "looking with your man eyes" around here. "Are you looking with your eyes, or your man eyes?" DS will call me to come help him find something "because I'm looking with my man eyes!" :) Although, my DD did give me a pencil this summer with the phrase "You're straight up magical" on it because I can 'magically make things appear' that she was unable to find. So it's not just the men around here. Edited September 19, 2017 by fraidycat

blondeviolin
I love it! The rule at our house is if I find what you're looking for, I get to hit you with it.
Hen
my family has taken to saying, with admiration, "it's not lost until mom can't find it" ...I always find everything they can't seem to find, but at least I get admiration out of it. :)

Pink and Green Mom
Can he tell the difference between NEAR the hamper and IN the hamper? Because this seems to also be a critical difference. Our laundry basket once wrote my husband an email asking if it had offended him because it could clearly see DH was avoiding it.

solascriptura
Haha... that is so true! Of course my dh says he can't find anything because my eye level is lower than his. Insert eye roll here.

Cindy in FL.
Yep, he sounds ready! My ds couldn't find his pants hanging on a door knob once. How hard is it to search a doorknob for a pair of pants?

footballmom
That is hilarious! My kids had the same affliction until I implemented the $5 rule. Yes, I will help you look for (insert lost item). If I find it before you, you will pay me $5 to get it back. Significantly cut down on the requests to find lost things...
