milovany
We just purchased a house with a whole-house soft water filter system on it and I can't stand the way it makes my hair feel (TOO soft). And I've used the deva curly girl method but it's not seeming to work as well with this type of water. My hair seems frizzier rather than curly. I won't be able to talk my husband into removing the soft water filter, so am wondering if you have found any tips/tricks for dealing with soft water when it comes to hair -- specifically curly hair. Thank you! #firstworldproblem
MommyLiberty5013
Maybe some sort of hair smoother product would help. All the homes here in our part of MN have them. The hard minerals are too much for the homes' pipes, I suppose. It took getting used to for me too.
zoobie
Maybe adding a sea salt spray? Or using something like this shampoo: http://www.lushusa.com/hair/shampoo-bars/seanik/02164.html Would a different type of water softener make it less soft? Can you reduce the amount of softening it does?

prairiewindmomma
Are you using gel or mousse? My hair went through an adjustment period when we moved to a house with a water softener. I had to switch up my product line for a bit. Try a hair cream or something other than what you are currently using and see if that helps. Barb_
I noticed this when I spent a week in a hotel. We have fairly hard water in the desert. After much trial and error I've worked out a line of products that work for my hair, but when we were vacationing my hair looked like 1986. It would NOT behave itself. Birchbox has a few cool trial/travel sized boxes for curly hair, frizzy hair, etc. Maybe order a couple and find a new system?
