Biology books- living type

Recommended Posts

We are studying biology this year.  I am looking for books I can read aloud or the kids can read to themselves.  Factual is ok but I do have spines and programs so I am also looking for things like biographies and fiction books that naturally incorporate biology topics.    I posted on this board as i am specifically looking for this age group but one of my high schoolers is also doing biology this year so if you have something for that age as well feel free to share :)

Wicked Plants and Wicked Bugs both by Amy Stewart are fun and informative. They are written as literary nonfiction. Excerpts can be found on her website.

I had heard of wicked plants but not wicked bugs. Thanks!

For younger kids, I love all of the Throton Burgess books (Chatterer the Squirrel, Reddy Fox, Paddy the Beaver, etc).
