Keeping mosquitos away

We're in Northern California in a mild climate area and the mosquitos have found a way to get in. Both DD and I are mosquito magnets, so both of us were bitten and look like twilight versions of ourselves.

Do these work? They are in my cart and I'm literally itching to buy them:

And just to add something else:

I'm trying to avoid DEET so if there is an alternative application, I'm willing to buy it.

Burt's Bees and Cutter Lemon Eucalyptus are both products that I would recommend. Some of my girls and I are also mosquito magnets. We have used both of these products with great success.

For myself, I douse myself in the stuff, especially my ankles and feet, which usually tend to fare the worst.

Thanks! Anything to bring down the swelling? DD has several on her face and they are itchy and swollen.
