Earthmerlin
I'm looking for a book of quotes for kids. Something I can pull out periodically & read. And then we can discuss the saying & its meaning, significance, etc. Famous quotes from all walks of life--philosophy, funny people, etc. Something that's geared towards 7-ish year olds, with food for thought they can reasonably ponder. Does a book like this exist? If so, please throw a title at me. Thanks!
Pegs
I own The Concise Oxford Dictionary of Quotations, and The Routledge Dictionary of Latin Quotations. Not specifically for kids, but I thought I'd mention them.
8filltheheart
Journeys through Bookland has "100 choice quotations." They inspired my Dd (who was older than 7 at the time :) ) to start keeping a commonplace book of quotes that impacted her. She has maintained it for yrs over numerous volumes (which she sometimes decorates, writes in calligraphy, etc) http://www.gutenberg.org/files/24857/24857-h/24857-h.htm#One_Hundred_Choice_Quotations
estelleblue
My kids really liked 365 Days of Wonder: Mr. Browne's Precepts by R.J. Palacio (same author of the book Wonder). http://amzn.to/2teRKUn
vickjul
We have a copy of https://www.amazon.com/Scholastic-Treasury-Quotations-Children-Adrienne/dp/0590271466/ref=sr_1_6?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1500159055&sr=1-6&keywords=quotations that I picked up at a library book sale. It's supposedly for grades 4-8, but my 6- and 8-year-old do fine with it.

My oldest will use it for copywork next year.

LOL, we got this one too! I just pulled it out during read aloud last night & she liked it. She recognized a lot of the people quoted but was disapppointed Earhart wasn't included. I like how it's broken into categories.
