Katy
Anyone got books or websites to recommend for parenting techniques for those who may be on the mild end of the spectrum?
rutamattatt
There is a Facebook group for parenting FASD Teens and Adults, and one for Parenting FASD Kids. Check out this link for some other resources. We are parenting a child on the FASD spectrum, and there is a huge learning curve fiuring out what parenting strategies work well. Hope this helps!

klmama
No info on parenting techniques, but I did want to share what helped with a friend's adopted child with FAS. Therapies didn't seem to make a difference in her learning or behavior, so the mom finally tried dietary changes. After removing gluten and all artificial colors/flavors from her diet, the girl calmed down, became much more cooperative, and was finally able to learn. They homeschooled, so she could work at her own pace, and she caught up academically within about three years. She's gone back to school and is doing well there. Obviously, that's just one child, but dietary changes might be worth looking into, if you haven't already.
