Help Me With Illustrated Literature options

Recommended Posts

I think I have settled on using ELTL next year with a couple of my kids and I am now trying to find some lovely illustrated versions of a few classics. If you know of some that you have seen/enjoyed and can point me in the right direction I would be so grateful. I prefer unabridged and while they don't need to be hardback it is definitely my preference. Amazon has soooo many and the same reviews pop up for various versions so I cannot trust I am reading a review for the book I am considering. I am looking for:

The Wonderful Wizard of Oz

Peter Pan

Alice ' s Adventures in Wonderland

Through the Looking Glass

The Blue Fairy Book

A Wonder Book for Girls and Boys

Wind in the Willows

I am super old school when it comes to books so I don't do kindles. ;)

For Peter Pan, we used the one illustrated by Robert Ingpen. But it strangely doesn't seem to be available new anymore.

For Alice's Adventures in Wonderland  and Through the Looking Glass, we used the ones illustrated by Hellen Oxenbury.

For Wind in the Willows, we used the one illustrated by Michael Hague.

You guys are the best! I just went and placed orders :)

Anyone else with Blue Fairy and Wonder Book recommendations? Those ones are making my head spin.

While I am asking about books...anyone have a Beatrix Potter illustrated favorite as well?

It's been a while, so my details may be off, but my library has all of her stories in cute little hardback books. They're maybe 4x6 and 50-60 pages each (about a paragraph per page), with plenty of color illustrations (every page, if I'm remembering correctly).
