Divorce Mix Tape - CC

My Aunt is coming off the back end of an unexpected and very hurtful divorce.  One thing that's helped her through this ordeal has been her new found faith.  Prior to the divorce, her life was quite isolated and lonely.  But now she's found this whole new community, made friends, joined several service groups and Bible studies and even got Baptized before Easter.  She found a lovely new house and has plans to do an out west road trip, which is something that  she's always wanted to do but her ex never did.  She's starting all over again in her late 50's and is grabbing life with two hands!  She' really transformed into this amazing woman and frankly, it's quite the honor being part of her life!

My Mom and Dad have been spending a lot of time with her, helping her through legal issues, house hunting and such.  Mom takes an exercise class and one of the songs they work out to is "Flawless" by Mercy Me.  She asked if I could burn it to a disc for my Aunt.  I was a teen in the 90's so mix tapes are in my blood!  You can't have a mix tape with just one song!

I'd love to get suggestions from you all of uplifting, encouraging, songs.  So far I have:

"Free to Be Me" Franchesca Battistelli

"Overcomer" Mandisa

"Flawless" Mercy Me

"Greater" Mercy Me

"Tell Your Heart to Beat Again" Danny Gokey

If she likes country, there's a lot to choose from!  LOL  A couple that come to mind...

I can't even get the blues no more by Reba comes to mind

Up! by Shania Twain

Rock Bottom by Wynona Judd

Settling' was an anthem for me after my divorce. (by Sugarland)

I ain't settling for just getting by

I've had enough so so for the rest of my life

Tired of shooting too low, so raise the bar high

Just enough ain't enough this time

I ain't settling for anything less than everything, yeah

OP, are you looking for exclusively Christian songs?

Personally, I love Jonny Diaz' More Beautiful You.

ETA:  Hawk Nelson, many from which to choose.  Diamonds and Live Like You're Loved come right to mind.

Oh, again, not Christian, but country...these two are perfect!

He wondered how she'd take it when he said goodbye

Thought she might do some cryin' lose some sleep at night
But he had no idea, when he hit the road
That without him in her life, she'd let herself go

[Chorus]
Let herself go on a singles cruise
To Vegas once, then to Honolulu
Let herself go to New York City
A week at the Spa, came back knocked-out pretty
When he said he didn't love her no more
She let herself go

And I'll grab the wheel and I'll point it west
Pack the good and leave the rest
I'll drive until I find the missing piece
You said I wouldn't get to far on a tank of gas and an empty heart
But I got everything I'll ever need
I got this old guitar and a brand new set of strings

The Comeback by Danny Gokey  (Also, I like Rise by him, too.)

Get Back Up by Toby Mac

God Is On The Move by 7eventh Time Down

Ready or Not by Brit Nicole! (w/Lecrae)

Ready Set Go by Royal Tailor

This is Living by Hillsong Young & Free (w/Lecrae)

Less upbeat but still good and mostly current:

I Have This Hope by Tenth Avenue North

Beloved by Jordan Feliz (good lyrics!)

Hills and Valleys by Tauren Wells

Drops in the Ocean by Hawk Nelson

Gosh, so many good ones!  :)
