DawnM
I am not following. What about them?
Tangerine
Sewing them, I'm guessing?
Alice
Scout badges. That is all. 😖 It it's sewing...make him sew them. I like to say they should add a Sewing Merit Badge. Ds has done all his own since becoming a Boy Scout.
Arcadia
Sewing them, I'm guessing? Scouts can sew their own badges. Basic sewing is a life skill :) I was a girl guide.
DawnM
Oh sewing? When the older boys were younger, and had just gotten their first MBs, I sewed them on upside down! HAHAHAHA

Hedgehog
Yup, sewing. For DD9. I do get them to do their own as a general rule, but she has dyspraxia so finds it hard. I need those thimblepads.. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Tangerine
I'm trying to imagine a Daisy sewing on those giant petals (which more power if they can), or my then teeny Cub Scout sewing those concentric circles of thousands of tiny patches on that red vest. DawnM
Mbs are to be sewn on by the boy! I did make a deal with ds--after the first 60, I sewed them on. And then did them all again when we had to make a new double-length sash. From his first sash to the second, the color had changed, so we had to build an entirely new sash. I guess my deal was that I would do the first 60. I didn't mind. One boy has special needs and it just wouldn't have worked. Second did quite a few of his own. bettyandbob
My brother sewed all his himself. He made eagle in 1978.
aaplank
I cannot and will not sew. I tried the fabric glue, but the badges kept falling off. I resorted to stapling them on the uniform. I was pretty proud of myself because I became quite skilled at disguising the staple so it hardly showed.
Serenade
Badges can be really hard to sew on. I've hesitated to let my kids do them because I pretty much stick myself every time I do them. I did learn a trick, though. First glue them on with basic white glue, and then sew. The glue keeps the patches in position much better than trying to pin them in position while you sew. I was always getting frustrated when I pinned them, because for some reason, they still always ended up being crooked.

My Dd has a whole vest covered with badges and patches that have stayed on perfectly with badge magic for 3 yrs. It doesn't get washed often and I dry it on low heat

Sk8ermaiden
I am a huge fan of badge magic. DD can sew and has her own machine, but I'm paranoid of the backing on them gumming up the machine somehow.

Hedgehog
I can't get Badge Magic here in the UK *weep* Would generic fabric glue work as well? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
