MomatHWTK
It is supposed to allow you to watch ad-free. I think it rolled out in October, but I don't go to YouTube often so I missed it.
Butter
We have it. It's nice having no ads. But that's only a small part of it. There is premium content only available through YouTube Red. Some of those content is amazing.

abba12
So glad you are not talking about redtube. I have no doubt the choice of name was intentional by youtube. Maybe they thought they were directing traffic away? lol
nansk
We have it. It's nice having no ads. But that's only a small part of it. There is premium content only available through YouTube Red. Some of those content is amazing. Please tell more. Which content do you and your dc like? How much does it cost? ETA: I found out it costs US$10 a month and is not yet available in Singapore. :( Edited March 25, 2017 by nansk
Mergath
We get it as part of our Google Play Music Unlimited subscription. It's nice, but I don't think I'd pay for it separately. Though it's been a while since I've seen an ad on youtube, so I might be forgetting how annoying they are. ;)
MeaganS
Yeah, we get it through Google play music too. I like it for the ad-free and because it allows me to download videos offline, which is handy with the kids. I don't know that I'd pay for it on its own, but since it's free with Google music, why not?
