Chris in VA
He is at tech school so they are physically apart for a while and thought reading a book together then discussing it might be interesting and fun. She is a reader but he is not, really. He likes survival stories (Hatchet). They agreed they could do a mystery (she likes Louise Penny). No dystopia or Fault in Our Stars stuff. Clean, please. Any ideas? Oh they both like Poe, have read HP and the like, and she has read a lot of classics. Go! 😊
HomeAgain
My husband and I both enjoyed The Lost City Of Z. I think they're making a movie about it, too, so that might be a nice tie in.
kbutton
Mary Higgins Clark (clean mysteries). DH and I used to listen to these in the car. If they read Christian fiction, they might like the Team Hope series from Susan Mae Warren. It's sort of mystery, sort of survival together. Starr
The Cat Who series, and the Mrs. Polifax series are short and fun to discuss. Lots of interesting characters and a mystery to solve.

Chris in VA
I dont think the suicide stuff in Ove would be good in this case, but thanks for the recommendation.
