Janeway
My little girl is quite dainty. But she is tough on clothes. When she was smaller, I bought her a lot of Hanna Andersson stuff. In the last couple years, she has insisted on all screen print Disney princess stuff. As a result, I bought leggings from Target. All those leggings quickly fell apart. Plus, next year, she will be in public school, so she will be outside in colder weather. The Target leggings seem so thin. Any recommendations on where to buy clothes? Clearance sales are starting up so I am thinking I perhaps should just go back to Andersson for the pants at least. Anyone else have good suggestions? school17777
I like Lands End. I try to shop the clearance sales.
MercyA
Just FYI, if you are buying the Cat & Jack leggings from Target, they are guaranteed to last a year. I've taken back one pair for exchange already and have another waiting to go. I think Kohl's sells some lined leggings. They are going out of season, but here are some by Carter's. Kohl's usually has some by Jumping Beans, too. Edited February 25, 2017 by MercyA
wendyroo
We have really good thrift stores around us, so I buy all kid clothes used. It takes a bit more time and advanced planning, but I have always been able to find brand name clothes (Hanna Andersson, Mini Boden, Old Navy, Crazy 8, etc) in really good condition for $1-3. I understand some areas are not so lucky on the thrift store front. Wendy
Erica in OR
Honestly? Rummage sales and thrift stores. For the reduced cost, I'm able to buy decent clothes, but have enough additional items to just toss something if it gets stained beyond saving or torn. I also check the clearance in the children's section at JC Penney whenever I'm there. Erica in OR
Mama Geek
I have recently been buying boys jeans at Walmart, they are thicker than girls jeans and she doesn't go through the knees on them. Dd is 6
SKL
Leggings are complicated. :P I used to buy them from Old Navy when my kids were that young. Now I buy them online. City Threads have worked out best for us - they are slim yet comfy and hold up well. In fact, thanks for making me check, because I need to buy a couple pairs. :P
PeacefulChaos
I used to get Pink tons of the J.Khaki brand from Belk. I also bought a pair from Primary (online) for halloween (she was charmander - we needed all solid orange lol) and those seem to be holding up well, too. Her J.K. ones she wears for years. Not sure she's hard on clothes, but that's my $.02. :)
eternalsummer
we like the city threads ones on amazon, but they are pretty expensive for just leggings - fine for DD11, but for DD5, who is rough on clothes, not worth it. We buy only used for her - we have one of those great upscale kid's resale places here (and everywhere I've ever lived, tbh).
littlebug42
Hanna Andersson, Carter's and Oshkosh were my go tos when my girls were little. My youngest was hard on stuff and those are the ones that held up to her wear.

But maybe I can try to trade in the kids pants with holes (after only a month).
matrips
My dd always wore Gymboree leggings. And they held up great. Edited February 27, 2017 by matrips
Ausmumof3
Gymboree leggings are the most durable although they wear out too. When they get holes in the knees I cut them off and hem and dd wears them under skirts or for sports shorts. They look cute.
kentuckymom
We like everything we've gotten from Primary dot com. It holds up as well as the Land's End stuff but it's cheaper. I agree that thrift stores are the best bet if you have good ones near you, however.
