Need to Replace Kids' Bathroom Faucets....Any Advice?

My house is 16 years old and it seems like all of the builder installed stuff is finally dying.

Tonight, it was one of the faucets in the kids' bathroom.  Wouldn't turn off at all...so I just turned the water off under the sink.

So now, that I'm likely to replace both faucets (so they match), any advice?  Any things you wish you'd done?

It's a really basic/boring two sink thing....with a white countertop and wooden cabinets beneath.

I will likely have a plumber or handyman do the install.

I can't afford something super fancy, but also don't want to buy the cheapest thing that needs to be replaced in a few years.
