Only me
This is the last year my dd will be home with us for school. She will go the a private high school next year. I usually like to do homeschool light in December but I'm looking for ideas to make it extra special this year. Since my dd is 13 and her brother is 10 I need something appropriate for their ages. I'm looking for ideas for Crafts, Christmas history, unit studies, really anything to make this year extra special. I was also thinking about volunteering or making something that they could give to a shelter, nursing home, etc. Any suggestions Edited October 19, 2008 by hpymomof3 wanted to add

LNC
My son is in a wheelchair. We love our lap quilts w/ velcro to attach to his chair. He has movements that tend to throw blankets off of the lap/wheelchair. I've heard these quilts/blankets are popular with nursing home residents. Maybe you could make some and bring them to a nursing home.
A home for their hearts
I don't if this will help but here is a link to a thread I started on Christmas traditions. There was a lot of great ideas on it!
magistramom
Have you thought of doing a Jesse Tree? Each child could decorate a tree, diorama, wall poster, or complete sculptures with story pictures representing each scripture - in their own style. Enjoy your long holiday time together!
