A friend has stage 4 cancer in combo with her traditional treatment they are also using complementary medicine, including diet. I'd love to be able to cook for her. I'm generally fairly familiar with various diets but I know nothing about these- I'm googling now but if anyone in the know could give me a quick and easy primer I'd greatly appreciate it.

Gerson and Budwig are separate but complementary approaches.

Budwig revolves around a mixture of quark/cottage cheese and flaxseed oil.

Gerson involves drinking g a lot of freshly made veggie and fruit juice.

Look up Kris Carr. I think she does the low acid alkaline diet. I think. She has had liver cancer for 10 years and is doing very well.

Thanks, I've heard of her movie but have not looked into it. She has some recipes on her site I want to try, yum!

No clue, but you are a really great friend.

Aw, thanks!

I think Johanna Budwig is flax seed oil? Check out this site:

The cottage cheese and flaxseed oil surprised me but then again this isn't my area of experience.

Reading over it I'm going to have to ask for clarification because the one said no salt(gasp!) and no oil(except flax). That is the opposite of my diet- I need extra salt!! I know her mom said she was eating lots of fat(good) so I'm guessing they aren't following that part of it, rather melding things together. She said she eats low acid meat but the links I've found only list fresh fish as ok.
