Kindle Fire for Spotify, audiobooks?

I'm thinking about getting DD one of the cheap Fires just for Spotify and audiobooks (Overdrive, Hoopla, and Audible). I know I've read some posts here about the Fires being slow and draggy and generally not that great for apps, but can anyone say whether the Fires are good for just a couple of non-video-oriented apps? Is the speaker any good?

Thanks!

I just bought one of the $89 Fires.   The reason I didn't get the $49 one is that the audio is better.  I've been very pleased with the sound.   Every night we listen to a half hour of a Boxcar children on Hoopla.  I tend to click on the download button just because we like to be in airplane mode.  But, when I haven't, I haven't noticed any drag.
