swimmermom3
My oldest son is asking for WW I nonfiction for Christmas. Do you have any good suggestions? I'd be open to good literature too.
Nan in Mass
Well... I just listened to Grace Harlow Overseas, which is about a girl who goes over to be a Red Cross volunteer during WW1. But I sure wouldn't recommend that to your son lol. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grace_Harlowe#/media/File:Overseas.jpg Nan Edited December 11, 2016 by Nan in Mass

lewelma
Sunset Song by Lewis Grassic Gibbon. Widely considered the best Scottish novel of all time. I read it years ago and it is definitely the most powerful book I have ever read. Haunting, really.

MysteryJen
Pat Barker's Regeneration Triology is very dark, but very good.
