Growing up, so bittersweet

My almost 17 year old got his first job and drivers' license this past week.

He is working as a cashier at a local grocery store.

Last night he got off at 9:30 and came home and brought us 2 pies for Thanksgiving dinner that he bought himself.

It is the little things......he has always been sweet, but now he is becoming thoughtful more and growing up.

I don't want him to go away to college.  But I do.   But really I don't.

Aw, he is a sweetie!

As to what I made bold above, I feel the exact same way about my 17 yr old hs senior. He started his first job in August and it feels so weird when he is at work. :(
