Scarlett
Dh and I booked a night away for our anniversary. I had this bright idea to come see Ree's new store and deli. Ha. We got to town at noon and there were two lines for the deli, both a block long. The lines to get INTO the mercantile were 2 1/2 - 3 blocks long. No. Just no. I want nothing to eat and I want to buy nothing that would be worth waiting in that kind of line. Thankfully we are less than 2 hours away so we will come back when the crowds die down a bit. So after we walked around the town a bit we went to see the Bison in The Tall Grass Prairie Preseve....and ate some awesome BBQ. And took a bottle of wine to our room. I got a Fitbit for my Anniversary! All in all great day. Oh, I left my 16 yo home alone for the first time.....that is a little unnerving.....but I think he is fine.

marbel
I'm glad you had a good time! Never have understood the allure of standing in long lines for pretty much anything. I remember some friends telling us that they waited 4 hours for dinner at a Cheesecake Factory when it first opened in their town. They had small kids and they hung around the restaurant for FOUR HOURS waiting for dinner. Within a couple of weeks the lines had died down, of course. I don't remember if they felt the food was worth the wait.

This made me laugh because my in-laws always give me a cheesecake factory gift card for Chrismas or my bday and I absolutely hate the food there!! So dh and I spend the gift card on cheesecake and alcoholic beverages. But the food is meh and overpriced IMO.
goldberry
Glad you had a good time! DH and I just had a couple trip, and we were talking about how nice it is that we still enjoy each other's company. It's a good thing!
