kbpaulie
What software/ system do you use to run your co-op --- registration, class lists, etc. We have an in house program right now that we love but will be obsolete soon. We're looking at homeschool life and are wondering what else is out there. Thanks
school17777
My co-op is small enough that I just use Word and signup genius. A larger co-op uses Homeschool Life - $8 per family.
happypamama
We looked at homeschool life, and it was good, but it would be a big expense for our smallish group, and at the time we looks at it a couple of years ago, it was missing a feature or two that we needed. (It might have it now.) We use a Shutterfly share site. It's free, and it generally works well. It makes sign up sheets easy. It's easy to print photos using Shutterfly, but you're not required to use Shutterfly for photos. Our members seem happy enough with it, and especially for the price, it's good. mom31257
We have a Facebook group, which is free, and we just do everything on paper. Our co-op has 22 families and almost 60 kids. I uploaded the application into the files along with our roster, schedules, supplies, cleaning schedule, etc. We take cash and keep a paper ledger of all fees. We only have supply fees for the teachers' expenses and a donation to the church, so we don't keep any money from year to year. I keep one master notebook with me there at all times, and it has all of that inside it. Edited October 17, 2016 by mom31257

HomeschoolingHearts&Minds
Our group (30+) families currently uses Bigtent. It allows us to have a forum, send out automatic reminders, etc. We use the subgroups for creating our clubs and classes. It is free. We used Homeschool Life previously and dumped it due to the fact that it had a number of annoying glitchy things and the $8 per family fee. Bigtent isn't perfect, but we were willing to work around its imperfections since it is free. It does do most everything Homeschool Life does as well as a few things the Homeschool Life could not do at the time we left it 1-1/2 years ago. catz
We use homeschool life. We have probably 60-70 families involved. It is an expense, but our board is entirely volunteer run so it has made our life easier in some respects. Everyone pays through the system with paypal now for example where there was one volunteer taking and distributing checks before and chasing down non-payments before. With a larger group, the volunteer work just ends up being a bunch more than you think it is going to be. ETA - our families pay a $70 yearly membership fee per family. That covers rental of our space, homeschool life, tax prep, insurance, incidentals, etc. Edited October 17, 2016 by WoolySocks
mschickie
We currently use Google forms and sheets to do most of our stuff (class descriptions, registration, helper forms...) One of our board members also used signup genius for assigning aides this year and that worked well.

sgo95
One co-op that has over 125 families uses Regpack.
mom2att
Homeschool-life because of the following features: calendar, class registration, accounting, forum, email, and group registration. We've been with them since 2008 and think the cost well worth it for our large group.
