Disney and Hurricane

Here's a crazy question ---

If you're already on a Disneyworld vacation, staying on property, and a hurricane hits, what happens?  I mean, obviously the parks close. Some hotels get evacuated... but what about some of the people who work there?  They have to go to work because there are thousands of guests on-site who need food and whatever else, even though the parks are closed.  How do the people who work there get back and forth?  What about their families?

Many of us Floridian go there for hurricane shelter. I think it was Charley the last time I was there after my island was evacuated. I stayed at the Boardwalk. Disney piled us all in the basement for boxed lunches, character meet and greets, and lots of games for the kids.

As for hotel workers, they are usually put up in the hotel so they will be there to staff it.

Yes......... this is also pretty normal when blizzards hit various places in the winter and people can't go anywhere. The staff that is already there stays and uses spare rooms.

I have a friend on a Disney vacation now.  She told me they were instructed to pick up their boxed meals yesterday (for today, Friday) and not to leave their rooms today.  She is staying in a mid range resort.  Orlando (where I live now) is under a curfew and therefore we are not suppose to be on the streets until tomorrow.

Just my limited information.
