kitten18
Anyone going to see the movies in theater next week? I think I want to get the event pass but the theater website redirects to Fandango to buy the tickets and it's really vague about when you can use the pass, if it's for all the shows, etc. Has anyone ordered one? SproutMamaK
We've bought tickets! Our theatre is treating it just like a regular movie, no special events or anything (at least not that I've heard of). They're only showing the first and last movies, and only on Thursday night. I'd LOVE it if they were making a bigger deal of it, but I'm happy we at least get this much. We were able to choose specific seats though, which was nice; no having to arrive hours earlier to get a decent spot.
Garga
Do you have more information about this? Is it only in IMAX theaters? I'm trying to skim articles, but it seems it's only IMAX? (Closest IMAX to me is about an hour away...)
BrittanyM
From what I've understood it is only select IMAX and the closest to us (1 1/2 hrs away) isn't playing them, only the one that's almost 2 hours. ETA: From what I've seen they're offering 3 different passes: an all day pass, a 4 show pass and a "festival pass" (which I'm assuming is for the whole week). As far as I know, it's only being re-released to IMAX, yeah. :( Most theatres that have IMAX screens are participating, though; I get the idea that there may not have been a lot of other IMAX movies out right now. MistyMountain
I am considering it. We saw the first 3 through a second run theater and I would like to see maybe 2 more in the theater while we have a chance. Unfortunately the show times are not good for the 4th and 5th movie. I may try to see the 4th but we could only maybe see that one.

Here's a link for you. http://www.imax.com/news/harry-potter-imax-week My local theatre wasn't listed on the official pages of theatres having showings, but when I went to their page and searched for movies playing next Thursday, it came right up. kitten18
It looks like if your theater has it, the event pass ($30) gets you into any movie, any time. I tried calling my local theater but they're not open for probably another half hour.
kitten18
Hmm the $30 event pass had me select from different times. It's confusing if theaters are treating it differently.I saw that too and i wondered if it was just the way Fandango is set up that you had to select a time. My theater isn't answering the phone yet. kitten18
Talked to the theater. The $30 is any show, any day. She said they are only selling 50 of those tickets at our location (this is Regal/Edwards). I'm going over there in a little bit to buy those. Plateau Mama
I just bought event passes for me and the kids. Now to map out when we can see them. I need to call and see if we just show up to the shows we want or if we have to reserve out times???? We are so excited! My 8 yo just finished reading the books over the summer.
