SKL Posted September 29, 2016 Posted September 29, 2016 Wake up early to finish report I promised yesterday. Fall asleep and report is still not done. Pay for school lunches. Kids up & off to school. Send email to culture camp begging them to add before/after care.. Send long text to soccer coach saying we probably can't play this spring. Work. A little exercise. A little housework. A little reading. Pick up kids after school - they're staying after for auditions for the Christmas play. If the weather is good, walk a dog from the shelter. Kids' work. Scout thing is cancelled for tonight. Shop for groceries for campout. Read-aloud. Kids to bed. Work. 6 Quote
MysteryJen Posted September 29, 2016 Posted September 29, 2016 Scout, :grouphug: Good morning! Picked up dd2, breakfast, and about to take her to school. Then home to pick up ds3 to take to his school day. Fewer complaints this week about it, so that is good. To do: School driving grocery store home to do school with ds2 laundry chores plan new quilt read admin stuff with ds2 PM practice swim/swim judo run Have a great day! 6 Quote
SKL Posted September 29, 2016 Posted September 29, 2016 Hey, someone says it's national coffee day! Woo hoo! 5 Quote
mom31257 Posted September 29, 2016 Posted September 29, 2016 Thanks, SKL! I think i'll have some more in honor of the day! The new furniture arrived. Our end tables don't work with the new at all, but I think they are overrated anyway. Just a place to gather stuff and dust. Ds is going to piano later, so we'll leave soon. He has done a good bit of school, but he still needs to do some work on his lit analysis assignment. He has read the short story and chosen his thesis statement. He needs to develop three proofs and start looking for evidence to back them up. One load of laundry is put away, the other is in the dryer. Still so much to do! 2 Quote
SKL Posted September 29, 2016 Posted September 29, 2016 Is it wrong that I'm hoping they call off the scout campout this weekend? Weather report says it's going to pour the whole time! And it's chilly (or so my feet say) even in the house! I am terrible. Surely I'm raising my kids to be wusses. 5 Quote
MysteryJen Posted September 29, 2016 Posted September 29, 2016 Distratcted by the fact that dd2 told me she lost weight. She is trying very hard to keep weight on and gain, so she was annoyed :). She hasn't broken the 100 lb mark yet and at 5'4" is seriously skinny. I decided to cook some of her faves (easy, quick to eat, high calorie-but time consuming to cook), so I will spend the day in the kitchen. It is no wonder I have put on about 10 lbs in the last few months. 3 Quote
Faithr Posted September 29, 2016 Posted September 29, 2016 Scout, sorry about your church issues. I hate politics of any sort! Especially in groups of people who are supposed to be supportive of each other. Turns out the rain wasn't as bad as predicted. One of my students told me Latin was his favorite class at co-op. Awww. I think he thinks I'm a fun teacher. That is gratifying! I am so used to griping instead of enthusiasm! 3 Quote
ScoutTN Posted September 30, 2016 Posted September 30, 2016 SKL, I hope it doesn't rain on your camp out. Our fall one was cancelled last year for huge storms. I was happy to be home and dry. Our AHG troop is going in late Oct and we are going with Ds' CS pack this weekend. 3 Quote
ScoutTN Posted September 30, 2016 Posted September 30, 2016 Nice afternoon with friends. Saw a great sunset while driving back into town. Got to TJ's. Ate at Pei Wei. Dh is at a meeting. Tomorrow's list is long already! 3 Quote
mom31257 Posted September 30, 2016 Posted September 30, 2016 I made it to my sister's house. Driving through Atlanta is difficult day or night. Traffic jams and accidents ruin daytime traffic, and construction controls nights. Getting dd in the morning and heading back through the madness of Atlanta to get home... 1 Quote
SKL Posted September 30, 2016 Posted September 30, 2016 Well, they didn't cancel the campout, but they did give us the option of driving in Saturday morning instead of camping Friday night. Yay! I will definitely take them up on that! Since they don't do anything on Sunday morning except eat cereal bars, pack and leave, I asked if we could just drive back home Saturday night, and the leader said yes. Yay! I realize this will mean no camping badge this time (probably), but we still have time for that. We'll have to leave home about 7am since my kids have been assigned the cooking duties Saturday morning. Still, better than spending the night in cold slushy mud. Better than trying to pack up a muddy nasty tent into my car afterwards. Blech. And this also means I don't have to worry about packing much. Me likey very much. 2 Quote
