Jaybee Posted September 11, 2016 Posted September 11, 2016 I often see you post that the tests run should include free t3, free t4, and reverse t3, right? So...after that is done, what do you do? I mean, if the doctor is not familiar enough with the issues to order all those tests to start with, then does he/she know what to do with the results? It is almost time for my checkup, so I thought I would look more into this. (I've been on meds for hypothyroidism for 16 years.) But when I have looked over the site Ellie always recommends, it is just confusing to me. Granted, I haven't spent tons of time on there, but I wonder how in the world I will understand all that myself. Quote
wonderchica Posted September 11, 2016 Posted September 11, 2016 If you already know, you are hypo and that your doctor isn't familiar enough with it, you should see an endocrinologist. Quote
Janeway Posted September 11, 2016 Posted September 11, 2016 I go to an endocrinologist and always have. Quote
Jaybee Posted September 11, 2016 Author Posted September 11, 2016 I have gone to endocrinologists in the past, but the ones I had gone to here locally were not impressive. (Left a great one in the last country where I lived.) Quote
