Popular Post Jenny in Florida Posted September 9, 2016 Popular Post Posted September 9, 2016 It was a relatively small balance, a drop in the bucket compared to a bunch of our other debts (specifically the assorted student loan stuff), but it has the highest interest rate. I've been chipping away at it at making a-little-more-than-minimum payments for months. Then, I was looking at the remaining items due this month, and I realized that, if I just held my breath and clicked the "pay current balance" button instead of "make payment" button, it would be done. So, yep, small victories, right? 68 Quote

MerryAtHope Posted September 9, 2016 Posted September 9, 2016 Congratulations! Definitely a victory worth celebrating, and since it had the highest interest rate, sounds like the right one to start with too. And now that amount can go towards paying down another--way to go! 2 Quote
TheReader Posted September 9, 2016 Posted September 9, 2016 Yippee!!! I know that feeling. Makes the late night driving gig completely worth it, too! Smart move. :) Quote
Guest Posted September 9, 2016 Posted September 9, 2016 CONGRATULATIONS! That is HUGE. Doesn't it just feel so amazing to have that weight off your shoulders? We are working on some longer term balances from medical expenses and just plain overspending and each time a card is cleared I feel so light and free. It's amazing how much those weigh you down even when the monthly payment isn't huge. Great job! Quote
creekland Posted September 9, 2016 Posted September 9, 2016 It'll be just as rewarding next month when you don't have to make the payment any more. ;) 1 Quote
Jenny in Florida Posted September 9, 2016 Author Posted September 9, 2016 Thanks for celebrating with me, everyone! By coincidence, I got this month's paper bill in the mail today, and I got happy all over again when I was able to write a note that the balance in full was paid online before I filed it. 5 Quote
