deeky5 Posted September 9, 2016 Posted September 9, 2016 (edited) Hi! We live overseas (outside of the US), so time differences make it difficult to find the right times for courses. I'm planning out my son's high school courses which will mostly but not completely be taken online. I'll also most likely make my son's transcript since he's taking courses from different online schools such as TPS, Northstar, and Veritas online and put it into one transcript. I think what I'm trying to say is that would taking courses from different schools negatively affect his transcipt? Thanks... Edited September 9, 2016 by deeky5 Quote
rdj2027 Posted September 9, 2016 Posted September 9, 2016 I don't see why it would. Different providers have different offerings. We also live abroad and have used Derek Owens and AOPS for math and science, Lukeion for Latin, literature and history, Wilson Hill for math and science, PA Homeschoolers for Geography, Blue Tent for Honors English, Well-Trained Mind Academy for writing and literature and VLACS for Digital Arts. 1 Quote
Sebastian (a lady) Posted September 9, 2016 Posted September 9, 2016 The transcript I wrote for my oldest had three different online providers and two community colleges. I used footnotes with letter codes to indicate any courses taken with an outside provider. Example: German 1 GO GO Oklahoma State University German Online A lot of people use a system of symbols like * and **, but I found that it grew confusing because I had so many different providers. DS 1 had a total of five and DS2 will also have five (but not all of the same providers). I also listed the provider in the course description. Quote
G5052 Posted September 9, 2016 Posted September 9, 2016 Mine are mixed as well: two different community colleges, VPSA, Lukeion, PAH, and CAP. I used abbreviations and then defined them at the bottom. I know that some want an accredited diploma, which would require staying with a single accredited provider. That wasn't an issue for us, so I just pick the best provider for a particular course. :hurray: Quote
Mom22ns Posted September 9, 2016 Posted September 9, 2016 I didn't even note providers on the transcripts (except colleges). I just put them in the course descriptions. 2 Quote
learners4life Posted September 9, 2016 Posted September 9, 2016 I think having the variety of providers shows that you were particular about the classes your son took. I just finished my daughter's transcript and am working on her course descriptions. Like Momto2Ns, I did not include provider information on the transcript, but did include it in the course descriptions. Quote
