umsami
So there's a good chance I broke my nose Monday night. It's not ER critical. I put ice on it, the bleeding eventually stopped, etc. But it's still rather sore and tender, and taking a deep breath is uncomfortable. I probably should get it evaluated by somebody....but who? Do I see an ENT? Plastic surgeon? Just wait it out as I don't appear to have a bump? Help!
zoobie
Oh no! What happened? DH got his broken by his idiot brother trying to show off kicking his kid's soccer ball. He went to the ENT because it kept bleeding and hurt but no cosmetic issues. I hope yours heals quickly. :grouphug:

Spryte
See an ENT. Do it quickly, like in the first few days. I'm so sorry!
Suzanne in ABQ
ENT to rule out a deviated septum, I would think. Possibly just your regular doctor (Primary care, Family Medicine, whoever you regularly see) would refer you to the right specialist.

mamiof5
No idea who to see, just wanted to say sorry!! Ouch!!! Read a parenting article years ago, it said it was not unusual for parents to get a broken nose like this. I hope you can get some help very soon!!
madteaparty
Well, are you happy with your pre-head butt nose? I am not and would make a beeline for the plastic surgeon and fulfil a long tradition in my family... ;) In all seriousness, I would see someone in case it heals wrong or whatever.
Lanny
Sorry about your accident. I vote for an E.N.T. Years ago (1999) our E.N.T. did surgery on my nose. There was a problem, which to my astonishment, when I went to the Anesthesiologist, before the surgery, we were told could have led to cardiac problems. As I recall, recovery from the surgery was very quick. It was done in a very large hospital in Cali, Colombia. I did not stay overnight in the hospital. ETA: In the USA, always go to someone who is "Board Certified" in the specialty you are looking at. Lizzie in Ma
ENT. You want to fix it now so there isn't any trouble down the road. ER misread my daughter's x-ray when she was 9.
OneStepAtATime
Eeek. So sorry umsami! That really sounds painful. I agree with others, an ENT. There are things that can happen that can cause additional issues later on. Doing something now to make sure you are healing properly, before things could get worse, is usually cheaper, less time consuming and less painful in the long run...

umsami
Thanks everybody. Two different ENTs told me they usually wait 7-10 days for swelling to go down before assessing. So I'm seeing somebody on Monday.
