We have a friend coming from out of town today. We just learned it is her b-day. But she's GF, so cake won't work.

What to do? (Bonus points if it is easy...)

Go to Kroger and look in the frozen bakery section. They carry gluten free cakes.

Also, rice krispie treats are gf, and you can add sprinkles to make them more birthday-ish.

Rice crispy treats!

Only if you can get gf cereal!! Kellogg's is not!

Same goes for oats. Certified gf only, no Quaker regular.

I'd do something frozen, or ice cream, because you could have serious cross contamination issues if you don't have a gf kitchen and aren't used to the protocol.

I'm gf and I would rather have a sundae bar -- with all of the packages available so that I can read the labels for myself.  I surely would not want to be sick on my birthday.

Good luck, OP!!

PSA:  About Rice Krispies -- any cereal that has "barley malt" listed as an ingredient is NOT gf.  There are a lot of cereals that would be gf if they would just replace barley malt with something else.

Probably not, b/c they'd still be running them on the same lines as the other cereals. :(
