KatieJ Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 I have purchased some Lavender and Peppermint oil Not sure which one I will use, but I want to use it to massage a trigger thumb I have developed. My chiropractor says they can sometimes be helped by heat and massage. I have the oil, but what do I use for a carrier? I didn't think to purchase one when I placed my order. I have coconut oil and olive oil , both from Costco. DOn't laugh at me, I am pretty new to this EO stuff. Can I use either of those? Or should I buy something else, and what would that be? If I can use coconut oil, what shoudl be the ratio? Or just drop some EO in the coconut oil and not worry about it. Again, be gentle. Thank you 1 Quote
Peaceful Isle Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 I have used coconut oil as a carrier. Honestly though, most of the time I just rub the oil just as is. I am not a big oils person, but I do have a few I like. What made you pick lavender and peppermint? Just curious. :) I use peppermint for my nausea and have tried lavender for sleeping. 1 Quote
mmasc Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 I like grape seed because it seems less 'oily', or greasy maybe? But I don't know much about it either...it's just the first one I tried. I like it so I stuck with it. :) 1 Quote
Hammfried Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 I use jojoba since it doesn't aggravate my skin. I have friends who have used coconut oil just fine but my skin type could not handle it. 1 Quote
Guest Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 Another vote for jojoba. Dh likes mixing oils with grape seed. Just make sure that whatever you use says cold pressed. Quote

I looked up the oils on Eden pure website and chose 6. Clove, lavendar, peppermint and eucalyptus were ones that were listed as helpful for muscle massage. Quote
aaplank Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 I like grape seed oil as it is less greasy and virtually has no other smell. Quote
