lanalouwho Posted August 17, 2016 Posted August 17, 2016 I am considering using this next year for first grade. (I know, this year just started. I like to think ahead.) The only con I see is that our small town library only has a few of the books available. I don't want to buy all of the books. Not only because that can get expensive, but also because of a lack of shelving (or rather, my books already fill the myriad of shelves.) But I'm thinking it might still be worth it to use as a skeleton schedule, for the maps and timeline figures, and we can get other books from the library to substitute. So if you've used BYL 1....how easy is it to sub, are the maps/figures/activity ideas worth it, and which books would you consider essential? Thanks in advance. Quote
PinkyandtheBrains. Posted August 17, 2016 Posted August 17, 2016 Does your library have inter-library loan? Our tiny library did, and it was free. So we used to all the time to get the books we needed for various curriculum Quote
lanalouwho Posted August 17, 2016 Author Posted August 17, 2016 They do. I've never used it before though.I plan on speaking with a librarian soon about how long it usually takes, how to place requests, etc. But I'm still not sure how much more would be available.
