Mom-ninja. Posted August 14, 2016 Posted August 14, 2016 I really don't like the search function. It does not work! I can't remember what I read here about getting a cat to eat new food. It was something you sprinkle of the food that cats can't resist. I've tried mixing the food with food he will eat but it's not working. I need him to eat this food per vet instructions. Someone posted about her cat eating x/d with something sprinkled on top to make him eat it. Quote
Dmmetler Posted August 14, 2016 Posted August 14, 2016 Krill oil? I have a cat with oral cancer who needs to eat, period, and a cat with kidney disease who needs to eat a low protein diet, and both like krill oil. Quote
Denisemomof4 Posted August 14, 2016 Posted August 14, 2016 I wonder if the broth packs or the Honest Kitchen top dressings would help? Do you have to switch cold turkey for health reasons? If not, a gradual transition works better. My barn cat was put on a prescription diet after she collapsed and I couldn't add anything to it because she was so sick I didn't think she'd survive. I switched the food 100% and she went without eating for a bit (2 days?) and then was too hungry not to eat as she got healthier. Quote
zoobie Posted August 14, 2016 Posted August 14, 2016 There was a recent thread that I can't find either, even using the google trick. Here's an older one talking about Aventi KS powder: http://forums.welltrainedmind.com/topic/584967-cat-people-switching-to-wet-food/ Quote
EMPgirl Posted August 14, 2016 Posted August 14, 2016 purina fortiflora? it's actually a probiotic, but it has digestive enzymes or something that makes cats go crazy for it. it worked for my fussy feline with kidney disease. https://www.amazon.com/Purina-Fortiflora-Feline-Nutritional-Supplement/dp/B001650OE0/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1471190178&sr=8-2&keywords=fortiflora Quote
Denisemomof4 Posted August 14, 2016 Posted August 14, 2016 There was a recent thread that aaked about Fancy Feast. Is that the one you are speaking of? Quote
Mom-ninja. Posted August 15, 2016 Author Posted August 15, 2016 Yes, I was thinking of the krill oil mentioned in the fancy feast thread. I will ask my vet about both the krill oil and the fortiflora Quote
