Nart Posted August 7, 2016 Posted August 7, 2016 My son is finishing up Singapore 4A. He finished BA 3A through 3D. He also has done the first 25 lessons in Saxon 7/6 for computational practice ( to work on speed and accuracy). He also did most of Saxon 5/4. He finished half of BA 4A but some of the topics are redundant after doing Singapore 4A and Saxon 5/4. I want to focus on Fractions which is in BA 4C and 4D. So my questions are: Has anyone skipped BA 4B - (He can do long division without any difficulty, and I figure the logic section he can do later)? Is it worth it to do the fraction sections in BA 4C after working on them in Singapore 4A? Once you finish BA 4C and 4D, is it worth it to go back and complete Singapore 4B? Quote
zarabellesmom Posted August 8, 2016 Posted August 8, 2016 Definitely don't skip the logic section. It was one of our favorites. Fractions... You probably aren't missing anything there. Quote
Kat w Posted August 8, 2016 Posted August 8, 2016 We use beast 3 here. I contacted beast when I was researching it, they emailed back that you could do them in any order. We use Singapore too. So I would say yes, skip to the part you want, but maybe go back later and do the previous parts? Like for review plus, I would just be afraid to miss the dpeth part that beast has for each concept. Something could spark in his brain n stretch him more in the skipped area(s). Just my 2 cents. I'd skip it, then go back and if for no other reason, could be for review. But, you know how deep beast goea. In even a different way than Singapore. Quote
Roadrunner Posted August 8, 2016 Posted August 8, 2016 Beast teaches long division in a more conceptual way. I would spend a lesson on it. Generally I would skip all the easy problems in 4A if she knows the content and do the more challenging ones that you find at the end of chapters. Logic section is great! Quote
