She is in the hospital in need of surgery.  She was complaining of sore throat and ear aches, a trip to er and cat scan showed an abscess behind her tonsils .  She will be in the hospital until Friday.   Thanks.

A similar thing happened to youngest DS when he was in kindergarten. He was suspected of having meningitis and they were getting ready to do a spinal tap when the CT scan results came back showing an abscess. Thankfully a couple of days of IV antibiotics took care of it and he was able to avoid surgery. I hope your grandniece has the same outcome!  :grouphug:
