Since finances are right right now, I decided rather than buy a new workbook for the program I had decided to continue with I would give the free JAG workbook a try. So I carefully counted the paper I had and printed out the odds of the 134 page workbook. Only after did I realize that each page has a gray warning printed across the page that it's not for sale, etc. I should have caught that but I can be a little bit of a bubble head.

Then I thought, since I've done this much, I may as well finish. And then the paper started jamming as I printed the evens on the reverse sides. Not fun. I wind up doing little bits at a time to prevent more trouble. It took a long time.

So now I have it in a binder and I have no idea how DD is going to manage with that extra print across the page. We're a family with funky visual issues and this DD in particular has low frustration tolerance.

I keep thinking how every time I try to save a few bucks on curriculum, I give myself headaches.

Ok. Vent over.

Oh my, I got that and hadn't looked at it yet.  I can see why you're frustrated!  What I'm looking at has it all over the page!!!  That would be fine on the ipad and doing it on a whiteboard but terrible printed, mercy.

So sorry it didn't work out, sigh.   :(

It might be a night for chocolate.  I'm beginning to think I need chocolate.

I noticed that after I downloaded it. It really isn't usable, in my opinion. It would drive my kiddos crazy. Why would they do that? If it is titled as a free download, even for a day, it should come usable. :( Oh well. my rant is over now too.

Exactly.

I've seen samples that do that. But when it's offered as a free workbook and it turns out not to be usable, it's very disappointing.

I got to go out to a National Night Out event tonight and had a yummy brownie with chocolate chips that really hit the spot.

Yes, I noticed that too, when I downloaded it. They could have put a prominent "not for sale" line in the page footer. It would have served the same purpose. This was a very ugly way to do it. If you don't want to give away your work, then don't give it away, period. Don't make it unusable and then pretend to give it away.

I had the same experience.

I was so excited to get this download. I had heard so many great things about it and I had such high expectations and then it was completely unusable. Major disappointment.

It definitely made me reconsider using any of their curriculum.

I downloaded it too.  It actually doesn't surprise me.  I thought I'd give it a try(since it's free.)  I won't be using it either.

I purchased all of AG years ago(pre JAG!)  I also bought many of the R&R books.  Then, when I planned to copy it all for my daughter, I realized the copyright prevented copying FOR ANY REASON.  I called the company and they confirmed it.  I could not afford to buy new workbooks for each child(this was ds #1)  I thought it was a splurge to spend $200+ for grammar, but I was planning on reusing it.  I WAS excited about it the first time.  I can no longer recommend the materials to families on a budget.:(
