rose Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 How can one go about training themselves or others to read faster besides by reading more. My older children can read a book twice as fast as I can with reasonable retention rates. I don't think that I have any ld's. Does anyone have any suggestions? Quote
Mama2BugNBear Posted August 2, 2016 Posted August 2, 2016 I researched speed reading on YouTube and came across some very helpful videos. I believe one of the channels was Iris reading. Quote
ElizabethB Posted August 6, 2016 Posted August 6, 2016 (edited) Did you learn to read with some sight words? If so, nonsense words. I have a draft PDF file and progam I am working on I could send you. I have noticed that my remedial students all slow down for a few weeks or a month while retraining their brains to read phonetically and then all increase their reading speed. This includes a few students who did not have major reading problems but went through my 10 hour co-op class to impove spelling or reading comprehension. Edited August 6, 2016 by ElizabethB Quote
