mom2vikha Posted July 31, 2016 Author Posted July 31, 2016 I have cover story, CAP, WWS1 and Killgallon. She chose Cover story and I am throwing in Killgallon. Is that ok? Quote
deerforest Posted July 31, 2016 Posted July 31, 2016 I think all this: Literature. 6 with Veristas press, MCT town level , Vocabulary from classical roots 6 and A Rod and staff spelling 6 AND Kilgallon and Cover Story is too much language arts. I say this as someone who owns pretty much everything. MCT town level includes vocabulary so I would use another program Cover Story assumes daily journaling, 3x weekly videos + writing assignments. It's all creative writing which is great if you have a kiddo who likes it. My accelerated girl got bored about 1/3 in, and we ditched it. It's pretty time consuming with the videos and assignments. Kilgallon goes quickly but I'm not sure if you need it if you are doing MCT too. I used it when we weren't using MCT. Does she still need spelling? My DD (7th) will never be a great speller; we've both accepted it, but it's gotten so much better from just writing. I've used AAS, LoE, Megawords, Phonetic Zoo, and others I am forgetting, and we just finally decided to focus on her spelling in her writing. I don't know anything about Veritas Press Quote
mom2vikha Posted August 1, 2016 Author Posted August 1, 2016 So is MCT alone good for language arts? Because she doesn't like CE for some reason. <p>I think all this: Literature. 6 with Veristas press, MCT town level , Vocabulary from classical roots 6 and ARod and staff spelling 6 AND Kilgallon and Cover Story is too much language arts.I say this as someone who owns pretty much everything.
