historically accurate Posted July 29, 2016 Posted July 29, 2016 2 of my dd's have had good luck with these: http://www.vonmaur.com/Product.aspx?ID=1350917&pg=1 I picked them up at Marshall's. They're seamless, so they didn't bother the one who has some sensory issues. Quote
SKL Posted July 29, 2016 Posted July 29, 2016 I ordered about 3 different kinds of "training bras" from Amazon. They are basically like sports bras (but not tight). My youngest who wears size 14 on top needs size L to be comfy. Quote
Pippen Posted July 29, 2016 Posted July 29, 2016 Old Navy has a good selection of sports and cami type bras for girls. Very reasonable prices too. http://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/category.do?cid=1062951 Quote
alisoncooks Posted July 29, 2016 Posted July 29, 2016 My oldest DD has just been wearing cotton sports bras (Fruit of the Loom). She likes the regular sports bra, but we've also bought the thin-strapped camisole type bra to wear with certain outfits. Quote
Ravin Posted July 29, 2016 Posted July 29, 2016 DD's preferred bras are sports bras (and, until recently, bralettes, which are sort of in between a sports bra and a regular bra, in that they pull over the head, but do not offer athletics-level support) from Target. Quote
Ravin Posted July 29, 2016 Posted July 29, 2016 We had good luck at Justice. Their stuff looks decent quality. Couldn't convince DD to try any on last time we were there, even though she'd buy the rest of the store if she could...she's too set on her Target bras. Quote
jjeepa Posted July 29, 2016 Posted July 29, 2016 We had good luck at Justice. We did too. They were soft and had a variety of colors. They also have these little removable pads if your daughter is concerned about keeping things looking smooth :001_smile: which mine was! Quote
purplejackmama Posted July 29, 2016 Posted July 29, 2016 We had good luck at Justice. Oh no! Don't make me gooooooo. So much cheetah! And glitter! And furry accessories!! :) 3 Quote
kitten18 Posted July 29, 2016 Posted July 29, 2016 Dd has been wearing these Maidenform Girl Big Girls' Slim Seamfree Ruched Crop, Nude, Medium https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00QKGB4EY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_BJ2MxbH0HE9NM She really likes them. I bought her a couple cheaper ones at walmart that are similar but they don't have as much coverage from top to bottom (they really arent made to accommodate any volume in the cup area). Quote
kitten18 Posted July 29, 2016 Posted July 29, 2016 Oh no! Don't make me gooooooo. So much cheetah! And glitter! And furry accessories!! :)I didn't have dd try on bras there but I thought their underwear looked really nice. Around the house and under loose shirts dd will still just wear a Justice cami with the shelf bra. Quote
Carol in Cal. Posted July 29, 2016 Posted July 29, 2016 Justice, especially if, like many preteens, 32 is too big around for her. Quote
MercyA Posted July 29, 2016 Posted July 29, 2016 I really like these Maidenform bras, but my daughter prefers bralettes from The Children's Place. The bralettes have minimal support, but are comfortable. Because they have a some Lycra in them, the coverage is a little better than a 100% cotton cami (IMO). The Maidenform bras have thin, removable cups for more coverage. If your daughter's sensory issues require something even more comfortable, you could try Decent Exposures. Quote
ILiveInFlipFlops Posted July 29, 2016 Posted July 29, 2016 Both my sensory sensitive girls started with these: http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/tucker-tate-seamless-bralette-big-girls/3450568?origin=keywordsearch-personalizedsort&fashioncolor=N%20GREY%20HEATHER Then they both graduated to these (though youngest still REALLY wishes the first were still enough support!): http://www.walmart.com/ip/Fruit-of-the-Loom-A-Fresh-Collection-Junior-s-Seamless-Lounge-Bra-FT514/42387978 Both are very soft and comfy. I've heard great things about the Justice bras as well, but we'd already settled on these by the time I'd heard that, so we never did try anything there. Good luck! Quote
slackermom Posted July 29, 2016 Posted July 29, 2016 DD12 has ongoing sensory issues, and lots of what she initially likes gets abandoned after a few wearings. These styles from Target have stood the test of time. This one by Hanes is her comfy favorite for everyday wear: http://www.target.com/p/hanes-girls-2-pack-bra-assorted/-/A-14886161 and this is a close second, with removable pads: http://www.target.com/p/hanes-girls-2-1-with-removable-foam-seamless-bra-heather-grey/-/A-50794112 She gets light weight sports bras, also at Target, when she needs more support for dance class. http://www.target.com/p/girls-seamless-tie-die-sports-bra-black-circo/-/A-50458670 1 Quote
Ali in OR Posted July 29, 2016 Posted July 29, 2016 For the past year my 13 yo has worn either a sports bra (Reebok kids medium 10-12) or a long cami (Aeropostale XS with shelf bra) and these have been sufficient for her. She's also added in some that her sister wore briefly that are kind of a cross between these two. They are by Champion and we got them at Target. One is a T back--so very like a sports bra, and the other that she prefers has two straps. She wants more of these and we have them on our back-to-school shopping list. Quote
foxbridgeacademy Posted July 29, 2016 Posted July 29, 2016 I took DD to Justice, mostly for the experience. Quote
Lilaclady Posted July 29, 2016 Posted July 29, 2016 We bought ours from marshals and TJ max. More reasonable prices as the girls do grow out of them quickly. Quote
lynn Posted July 29, 2016 Posted July 29, 2016 I found maidenform crop bras at kohls. My Dd is sensitive to seams and some fabrics but she is okay with these. 1 Quote
frugalmamatx Posted July 30, 2016 Posted July 30, 2016 We've had luck with Justice ones and Walmart ones. DD9 has sensory issues too, but needs coverage to avoid pokey issues. Quote
