JadeOrchidSong Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 I am trying to see if I can buy one with the code for cheaper than the high price tag. Thanks! Quote
PeterPan Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 I got mine on the amazon marketplace. It actually said supersite code included/unscratched. If it doesn't say that, assume it's not or write the vendor. I think you can buy the code separately also. Quote

Ds11.6 wants to quit Henle Latin and do Spanish instead. He has to do online because I don't speak Spanish and can't help him. Quote
RootAnn Posted July 29, 2016 Posted July 29, 2016 You can buy the supersite code separately ($165), but figure you will probably end up spending around the same amount as if you are piecing the stuff together yourself. You could get lucky & get a book where the code hasn't been used, but don't count on it. Doh! I looked at the website. It looks like they have yet ANOTHER edition out. They seem to put another edition out every two to three years. They aren't selling the whole package (with hard copies) anymore? Bummer. I bought the looseleaf hard copy with codes The only good thing is that if you stick with it, you use the material all three years w/Sr Gamache so you don't have to buy another textbook in Year 2 or 3. PeterPan Posted July 29, 2016 Posted July 29, 2016 Dd loved Gamache, but we jumped out to let her pursue her costuming interesting. She has been finishing the book on her own, which isn't ideal but which is good enough. She's looking to major in costuming, so the spanish is just a get 'er done kinda thing. Quote
Renaissance Mom Posted July 29, 2016 Posted July 29, 2016 We found the 3rd edition (the one needed when dd did Spanish with Sr. Gamche) used on Amazon. As OhElizabeth said, the seller should specify that the code is unused. Dd did Spanish 2 and 3 with Sr. Gamache. After she finished Spanish 3, she took the CLEP test, scored very high, and her college awarded 12 credits. So, yes, he does an excellent job. (He establishes students in each class to translate his Gamache-ness to the other students in the class. This helps everyone benefit from his teaching style without tearing their hair out over his quirky communications.) 2 Quote
samba Posted July 30, 2016 Posted July 30, 2016 We also found a used book on Amazon with the code intact. It specified that the code had been unused. My dd did all three years with Gamache and had a great experience. She wants to be proficient in Spanish and I thinks she's been given a very strong foundation. She'll be taking the CLEP exam soon.
