Where to buy good Russian keyboard for PC- recommendation please..

Recommended Posts

I need to purchase a good reliable Russian keyboard for my computer- either Russian only or Russian/English letters are fine- but not stickers since they done survive long. Amazon has many but reviews are 50/50 on most of them? Any recommendation  for reliable keyboard?

Thank you very much.

We've purchased several, and most of the "good" ones have laminated letters which rub off quickly.

The only one we found which is really high quality is a custom mechanical keyboard from WASD Keyboards. That has been well worth the investment, as it has lasted 4x as long as the others and still shows no signs of wear. I highly recommend it.

This is how my dd did/does it:

"I set up my laptop so I can switch back and forth between English and Russian on my usual keyboard.  I googled the Russian keyboard layout with all the little letters and such.  And I printed that out and cut out each little key (letter?) and stuck it onto my keys.  Then, after I'd learned them, I took them back off.  In my mind, I see the Russian keyboard now."

DW hates typing without a good keyboard, even though it's her native language.  Too many typos at full speed...  :)

Here is exactly what we got (you can customize the colors, key travel, and all sorts of things - got white keycaps for main keys, grey for modifiers, and orange for gaming keys (WASD/Enter)):

  WASD Keyboards

Best keyboard (of any kind) we've ever gotten.  At $150, it isn't cheap, but we had spent about that much on two junk keyboards and sticker sets, and this one has held up perfectly for several years now.

I can't give ou the name of a source, but possibly I can point you in a direction that will help.  In general, I think Logitech and Microsoft make the best keyboards. You might check with them, to see if they produce Russian language keyboards and if so, who sells them.  the other idea would be for you to contact the Russian Department at Texas Tech University in Lubbock and ask them what they use.
